Harlie Fulford Memorial Library
The Heart of Georgia Altamaha, in association with the Department of Labor, provides services to jobseekers under the directive of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. The goals of the WIA are to improve the quality of the workforce, enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the local workforce, and to reduce welfare dependency. The WIA program provides training and employment services to employers and economically disadvantaged individuals (both adults and youth), assists dislocated workers when a plant has a large layoff or shuts down, and coordinates OneStop Career Centers.

"The mission of the Friends of the Library is to promote interest in, use of, and public support for the library, and to volunteer time and resources to assist in providing library services, books, materials and educational programs for our Community."
Dues will further the role of the Public Library in the community. The Friends of the Library is planning to have fund raisers which will be used to purchase books and materials, and to fund educational programs. The purpose of this organization is to stimulate public interest, understanding and use of the Johnson County/ Harlie Fulford Memorial Library, and to promote and develop programs to improve services, resources and facilities.
