Events for kids
Read 1000 Books before kindergarten
Children who have not yet started kindergarten are eligible to participate in the statewide 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
Sign up today at the Laurens County Library Children’s Center!
Enter your books on your reading log to track your child’s progress.
For each 100-book milestone, bring in your child’s reading log to receive a prize! When your child reaches 1000 books read, stop into the library and get a diploma and a special prize. Your child may also pose for a photo for our Reader’s Wall of Fame display.
Do we need to read books only from the library? Nope, any age appropriate books count! No matter where you get them or how many times you read them - they all count.
Launching into Literacy
Join our literacy club for ages 6 months to 5 years!
Three easy steps to participate:
Complete a quick survey and receive a bag with books and activity sheets for your child!
Enjoy reading the books with your child and trying out the suggested activities!
Fill out the final survey (sent via email in March) and receive a prize bag for your participation!
For more information, visit the Children’s Center at Laurens County Library or call 478-272-5710 (Option 3).
