Meet other homeschooling families & learn about available resources. This month students are invited to participate in their own mini-market!
How the mini-market will work:
The buying and selling at the market will be using play money representing real US money denominations (provided by the library for use during the event).
Each participant will receive $20 in play money upon entry into the market.
Items bought at the market are yours to keep.
Students are encouraged — but not required— to make items to sell on the market. To be a seller, the family is donating real time and money to help make this event a success. Many items can be made through upcycled materials already available at home. No one should spend more than $20 on supplies.
Students who sell items are encouraged to track their labor and supply costs so that they can consider profit and loss.
Students who are sellers are also invited to create signs and other promotional materials for their “store.”
If you have any questions at all, please call Cristina Trotter or Jan Moore at the library, or email us at info@ocrl.org.
Registration for this event is encouraged.
